Barricade Z: Build. Merge. Hold the line.
Barricade Z is an HTML5 merge tower defense game template with readable source code, ready to upload to any static web host. Players merge matching turrets into stronger weapons and hold a five-position barricade against zombie waves across a 30-wave campaign. It adds three bosses, daily and endless modes and a 14-language interface, and needs no PHP or database to play.

12 tower levels to merge
Fabricate a tower in the reserve, then drag it onto an identical level to merge. Two equal levels combine into the next one, up to level 12, and the strongest towers move into the five barricade positions.

30-wave campaign with three bosses
The campaign runs 30 waves across three environments, with bosses at waves 10, 20 and 30. The daily challenge and Endless mode unlock as the player progresses.

Targeted grenades and Overdrive
Tap or click a zombie to focus the towers on it; automatic targeting returns when it dies. Grenades unlock at wave 3 and Overdrive at wave 7, and the Workshop upgrades damage, barricade strength and fabrication options.

Drag, merge, defend
Drag a tower onto a free slot or a matching tower, or select it and then pick the destination. Build, Grenade, Overdrive, Workshop and Call wave have keyboard shortcuts, and speed switches between 1x and 2x. A hand-guided tutorial can be replayed from Settings.

14 interface languages and English narration
The interface comes in 14 languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. The announcer is recorded in English only. Music, effects and announcer have separate volume sliders.

Desktop and mobile, portrait and landscape
Landscape and portrait layouts work with touch and mouse in current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Performance depends on the browser and device, so test on the devices your audience uses.

Ready for your website: upload game/
Upload the contents of game/ to any static HTTP or HTTPS host; HTTPS is recommended. Artwork, audio, fonts and the Phaser engine are bundled locally, no PHP, database or account is needed to play, and opening index.html from disk is not supported. Progress stays in the player's browser.

What is in the download
The package holds the ready-to-host game/ folder, the readable source and configuration, an illustrated offline buyer guide in 14 languages (its screenshots stay in English) and third-party licence notices. The illustrated panels on this page are promotional artwork; the screenshot gallery shows the actual game.
Who this template is for
Portal and site owners who want a finished zombie defense game, freelancers and studios preparing a branded game for one client, and developers who want to read a TypeScript project built on Phaser.
Customise it
In game/barricade-z.config.js you can set the page title and the save prefix with a text editor, no rebuild needed. Towers, waves, balance, interface text and audio live in the TypeScript source, and so do the logo and artwork. After editing, run npm ci, npm test and npm run build with Node.js 20.19+, then upload the contents of dist/.
