Quiz Studio: your own quiz site, ready to install.
Quiz Studio is a self-hosted quiz builder written in PHP, with the full source of its React admin panel and player. Upload it to a hosting plan with PHP and MySQL, follow the installer and start publishing: scored quizzes, personality quizzes, embeds, themes and optional AI drafting, all running on your own server.
Start from an idea, with your own AI provider
Connect your own OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic account to draft questions, explanations and a suggested look. Choose the topic, language, type and number of questions and review the draft before publishing. AI is optional, may make mistakes and may incur charges from your provider. Profile quizzes are created by hand.
Make every answer a moment
Suspense before the reveal, sparks and confetti, a shake on a wrong answer, a streak glow, a result reveal and extra sounds can each be switched off per theme, with a live preview next to the controls.
Eleven themes, eight layouts
Pick a look for each quiz and change colours, fonts and backgrounds, for the whole site or per quiz. Text on quiz cards and answer buttons is adjusted automatically to meet WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1).
Keep the answer a surprise
Right and wrong are decided on your server: the browser does not receive the answer key in advance. You can reveal feedback only at the end. Note that the speed bonus uses the player's own clock.
More than a score
Build scored quizzes or personality quizzes with result profiles, messages and images. Schedule when a quiz opens and closes, duplicate quizzes, import and export them, embed them in any page and review activity in the panel. Optional email collection stores the consent text.
Your server, your data
Quiz data lives in your own database. The interface comes in 15 languages, and the package includes 24 illustrated example quizzes, 18 covers and an illustrated buyer guide in 14 languages. Optional AI sends the topic and your instructions to the provider you choose, with your own key.
What this edition does not include
Hosting, a domain, email delivery, AI provider credit, custom development and translations beyond the included languages are not part of the package.
Technical details at a glance
- Stack: PHP 8.1 or newer without a framework, MySQL 8 or MariaDB 10.6 or newer; admin panel in React and TypeScript, player in TypeScript, built with Vite.
- Install: create an empty database, upload the contents of upload/ and open the address. The installer checks the server.
- Source: the source/ folder holds the editable panel and player with build instructions; the compiled files are already in upload/.
